Douglas Bucknell has dealt with a range of entities, goods, and structures for more than 25 years. He has experience in senior management and is an expert in complicated change management. Mr. Bucknell served as the CEO of the Anglican Investment Development Fund (AIDF) from 2010 to 2016, growing it to more than $100 million and bringing it online to join the Australian clearing system. He held the position of Senior Policy Advisor for the Australian Reward Investment Alliance (ARIA), trustee of the three Commonwealth superannuation funds, prior to taking on this position. He played a significant role in the creation and implementation of the new PSSap fund, which included a pooled trust arrangement with the CSS and PSS defined benefit funds. He also served as chair of the Funds Allocation Steering Committee, which oversaw the unitization and distribution of assets to member accounts, and the Simpler Super Steering Committee, which oversaw changes to the ARIA and Military taxed and untaxed super funds included in the 2006 Budget. He also participated in the Best Practice Committee of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA). He served as the Manager Small Funds Unit for the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority from 2000 to 2005. (APRA). He was the APRA representative on the Heads of Commonwealth Law Enforcement Agencies Sub Committee during this time and oversaw the transition of Australia’s self-managed super funds to ATO control. His previous positions include those of financial analyst for the National Australia Bank and manager of Treasury Credit for HSBC, where he served as chair of the committee overseeing risk associated with margin lending.

Daniel’s early career involved buying failing businesses and building them up before on-selling them. He sat at the helm of a Perth global satellite provider, Amstar Satellite, for 10 years. They boasted projects as large as the $40b Gorgon Project on Barrow Island where Amstar supplied all satellite connectivity and phone services to the camps housing up to 5,000 staff. The Amstar Group serviced large contracts for companies such as BHP, Chevron, Inpex, Barrick Gold, Newmont Mining, Cameco and Mount Gibson Iron among others.

Daniel has been on the Monteus Advisory Team in tandem with other roles since 2012. In a corporate advisory capacity, Daniel and his associates raise capital, secure private debt funding, offer strategic advice and assist companies with expansion.
